Saturday 28 January, 2023
Professor John Fraser and his team have been working on the Living Heart Project for over five years in developing a technology to keep hearts viable for longer, giving a much needed boost to heart transplant recipients.
As a result of John and his team‘s efforts, they have been able to show in contrast to a normal four-to-five hour window, that it is possible to sustain a heart for as long as 8 hours and 47 minutes. One of the biggest developments in the transplant space in possibly 50 years.
