DMC Founder Professor John Fraser a co-lead on the Living Heart Project giving the gift of life

Professor John Fraser and his team have been working on The Living Heart Project for over five years in developing a technology to keep hearts viable for longer, giving a much needed boost to heart transplant recipients.

As a result of John and his team‘s efforts, they have been able to show in contrast to a normal four-to-five hour window, that it is possible to sustain a heart for as long as 8 hours and 47 minutes. One of the biggest developments in the transplant space in possibly 50 years.
